PALESTINIAN REFUSED ENTRY TO JERUSALREM FROM BETHLEHEM BY ISRAELI BORDER POLICEMAN.
An Israeli Border Police officer holds a Palestinian by the neck as they argue at a roadblock in Bethlehem at the entrance to Jerusalem December 8, 2000. The Palestinian wanted to attend Friday Ramadan prayers at al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem and was refused entry. Violent clashes broke out in Jerusalem and other Palestinian West Bank towns following the second Friday noon prayers in the Moslem holy month of Ramadan on a day called by Palestinians to also mark the anniversary of the start of the first "Intifada" in December 1987.
