An Israeli armoured personal carrier blocks Al Shouhadah road during an
exchange of fire with Palestinian gunmen in the West Bank city of
Hebron August 19, 2001. Israeli soldiers shot dead an unarmed
Palestinian who had been shopping for school books for his children
when he tried to evade a checkpoint in the West Bank on Sunday,
Palestinian hospital officials said.
