GREEK ORTHODOX MOURNERS PAY THEIR RESPETS TO SLAIN MONK AT FUNERAL IN WADI KELT.
Greek Orthodox mourners pay their respects and kiss the body of Father Germanos Tsbuktsakis at his funeral in the West Bank Monastery of St. George in Wadi Kelt near Jericho June 14, 2001. Father Tsibuktsakis came to the Judean desert seven years ago to be alone with God until the unholy war raging in the West Bank intruded on his communion in the form of a fatal spray of bullets. Palestinian gunmen shot the 35-year-old monk as he was driving on a West Bank bypass road last Tuesday, possible mistaking his car for that of a Jewish settler.
