Palestinians gather around the car of the 27-year-old activist Fawas
Badran from the militant group Hamas, in the west bank town of
Tulkarem, July 13, 2001. Palestinian officials said Badran was passing
near the car when it exploded killing him. Hamas blamed Israel for the
explosion, saying it was an operation of assassination against one of
its members.
