ISRAELI PARAMEDICS TEND TO WOUNDED ISREALI SETTLER IN HOSPITAL IN
JERUSALEM.
Israeli paramedics tend to a wounded settler in a Jerusalem hospital
July 12, 2001. The 31-year old settler was shot in the head and chest
by a Palestinian gunman while travelling on a "bypass" road near the
West Bank city of Hebron. The 145 Jewish settlements in the
Israeli-occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip are at the heart of the
Palestinian uprising against military occupation. Many movements into
or out of settlements now take place under army escort.
