Taiwanese Minister of Economy Affairs Lin Hsin-I smiles after Taiwan
was elected to become a new member of the WTO during the WTO conference
in Doha, November 11, 2001. Following China's historic admission to the
WTO, Taiwan was also due to get the nod to join later Sunday,
increasing economic integration between the political rivals.
