PALESTINIAN BOY RUNS AWAY FROM AN ISRAELI TANK IN JENIN.
A Palestinian boy runs away after throwing stones at an Israeli tank in
Jenin the day after Israel's general elections January 29, 2003. Prime
Minister Ariel Sharon, riding high on a sweeping victory by his
right-wing Likud party, faces the daunting challenge of forging a
lasting coalition after an election that redrew Israel's political map.
Sharon could be forced into an alliance with far-right and
ultranationalist parties that want to spur to an even harder line
against the Palestinians, a move that could put him at odds with
Israel's chief ally, the United States. REUTERS/Ammar Awad
