Rehavam Zeevi was shot in Jerusalem October 17, 2001. The right-wing
minister was declared dead on Wednesday after suspected Palestinian
gunmen shot him in the head at his hotel in Jerusalem. The PFLP said it
carried out the attack on Zeevi, a 75-year-old former general, in
retaliation for the assassination of its leader, Abu Ali Mustafa, by
Israeli forces in August.
