JAPANESE WOMAN IN KIMONO PEEKS OUT FROM TRAIN STOPPED FOR Y2K CHECKS IN TOKYO.
A Japanese woman in a traditional kimono peeks out from a Tokyo train while it was stopped for Y2K checks at Shinjuku Station January 1. Usually running throughout the night for New Year's revellers, trains were stopped as a safety measure against the possibilty of the millennium bug. The trains departed shortly after the Y2K checks, with no glitches detected.
