NIGERIAN VILLAGERS WAIT TO VOTE IN DELAYED AND BOYCOTTED ELECTIONS.
A handful of Nigerian villagers wait to cast their vote in the town of
Udi, 20 Km's west of the state capital Enugu, April 16, 2003. Elections
in the area were postponed from 12 April due to violence and
intimidation. Most of the opposition parties boycotted the April 16
poll claiming rigging by the ruling party in the first democratic
elections since the end of military rule in 1999. REUTERS/Howard
