Nigerian women consoles fellow shopowners after an ethnic riot destroyed the shops in the southwestern city of Ibadan January 6. At least three died in the riot between Yorubas and Hausas while a further 15 were killed in seperate clashes involving a Yoruba militia group in Lagos.
