NOBEL PEACE PRIZE WINNER TRIMBLE SMILES IN DENVER.
Northern Ireland assembly leader David Trimble (L) smiles early October 16 after being awarded the 1998 Nobel Peace Prize for efforts to end 30 years of bloodshed in the province. At right is Seamus Mallon, deputy leader of the Social Democratic and Labor Party whose leader, John Hume, shared the prize with Trimble. The two men were in Denver for a business conference.
