British cinematographer and director Jack Cardiff poses with his honorary Oscar at the 73rd annual Academy Awards at the Shrine Auditorium March 25, 2001 in Los Angeles. Cardiff is the first cinematographer to receive the honorary Oscar. Cardiff has received four Academy Awards nominations and he won one Oscar for his cinematography on "Black Narcissus.
