PAKISTANI ISLAMISTS HOLD REFERENDUM ON CTBT.
Pakistani women queue up at a polling camp to cast their vote in central Karachi March 234. The Moslem fundamentalist Jamat-e-Islami party has arranged a public referendum to ask public opinion whether to sign a Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) or not before U.S. President Bill Clinton's visit to Pakistan who is due to arrive on Saturday. The referendum started on 17 March and ends on March 23. The results will be announced March 24. The party has installed 95,000 polling camps throughout the country.
