Panasonic's new model compact digital still camera DMC-FX1, integrating Leica's technology with Panasonic's digital video technology, is unveiled in Tokyo October 2, 2003. The camera is the world's first 3x optical zoom compact digital camera equipped with an optical image stabiliser, said Matsushita Electric Industrial Co, best known for its Panasonic-brand products. The three-megapixel DMC-FX1 will go on sale November 28 with an expected price tag at around 45,000 yen (about $405), the company said.
