Pelicans take off from the shore of Manyas Lake a few miles from the quarantined town of Kiziksa in Turkey's northwest province of Balikesir October 16, 2005. Officials say infected turkeys in Kiziksa probably contracted avian flu from migratory birds heading for a nearby bird sanctuary.
