The Dalai Lama, the exiled spiritual leader of Tibet, waves to the audience before speaking to a crowd estimated at over 40,000 in New York's Central Park August 15. The Dalai Lama, who has been conducting Buddhist teachings in New York since August 12 at a New York theatre, was delivering a public lecture for free to the public gathering in the park.
