Vladimir Yarets, 67, from Belarus, points to a map showing his travels, during a visit to Singapore December 21, 2008. Yarets, who lost his hearing when he was an infant due to a Nazi bombing raid during World War II, is aiming to be listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the first deaf person to travel around the world on a motorbike. He has been travelling around the world since 2000 and has currently travelled through more than 70 countries. From Singapore, he plans to leave for Africa or the Middle East sometime next year.
