Bank employees wait outside the Banco Republica in Miraflores as a policeman walks past November 24, after the superintendency closed the bank's doors to the public. Peru's banking superintendency said November 24 it had taken control of the Chilean-owned Banco Republica - a small bank which is ranked 15th by deposits - after the institution failed to pay its debts.
