Oscar Ramirez Durand, alias Feliciano, 46, leader of the Shining Path guerrilla movement, is transported in an airplane to Lima after being captured in the Central Jungle in Jauja, July 14. Durand was captured after an army patrol spotted him in a jungle gorge at the base of the Andes mountains. Feliciano was detained along with three female rebels near Huancayo, 125 miles (200 kms) east of Lima as he tried to escape through the rugged highland region, Fujimori said.
