A penumbral eclipse of the moon is seen in the night sky in Manila November 28, 2012. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said a penumbral refers to a partially shaded outer region of a shadow that an object casts and occurs when the moon passes through the faint penumbral portion of the earth's shadow. The penumbral eclipse of the moon will also be observed in Europe, East Africa, Asia, Australia, Pacific and North America.
