Finnish hostages Juhani Sappo Franti (L) massages his foot while Mirco Jahanen Risto (C) scribbles a note to their embassy inside a hut at the kidnappers' hideout on Jolo island May 1. Three journalists from international news organizations were allowed by the fundamentalist Abu Sayyaf group to accompany a Filipino medical doctor to see their 21 captives.
