ELECTRONIC EXCHANGE RATE DISPLAY IN MANILA.


A Filipino looks at the Philippine peso rate to the U.S. dollar on an
electronic exchange rate display at a money changer in Manila July 18,
2001. Philippine central bank governor Rafael Buenaventura said the
bank had not intervened in the foreign exchange market on Wednesday
despite the peso's fall to fresh six-month lows. The peso hit a fresh
low of 54.335 to the dollar on Wednesday before recovering to end the
session at 53.70 from its previous close of 53.95.
