Filipino aetas tribesmen carrying shovels and food supplies trek 15
kilometers to reach the crater of Mount Pinatubo volcano north of
Manila, to dig a water spillway, August 23, 2001. Scientists said the
level of the water in the volcano's lake has risen to critical levels
and there is a need to the divert the water to prevent nearby villages
from being swamped by floods.
