Portuguese craftswoman master Teresa Romao gilds a book's edges with a sapphire tool at a workshop in the Ricardo Espirito Santo Foundation in Lisbon June 14, 2012. Romao uses gold leaves produced by Fernanda Oliveira, one of the last goldbeating workers in Europe, who hammers 23 carat gold into extremely thin and light leaves used on decoration gilding as well as on high-technologies.
