Washington architect Garth Goldstein launched the 2,500-pound
(1,150-kg) boat made with 160.000 corks on Saturday on the Douro River
near the Spanish border in northern Portugal. They will start to sail,
row and drift on Sunday the 265 km (165 miles) down the Douro, home of
the famous port wine industry, in a trip that should take eight to 10
