THE CROWN OF THE KNIGHT TEMPLARS IS ADJUSTED ON TOP OF TRADITIONAL
TRAY.
The crown of the Knight Templars is adjusted on the top of a
traditional tray prior to the parade on Tomar city July 6, 2003. Each
four years the central Portuguese city of Tomar holds the Trays
Festival and each girl makes a tour of around 6 kilometres carrying
trays full of breads and coloured paper flowers of her height along the
old downtown streets. This thirteenth century tradition by symbols of
Knight Templars and Holy Spirit it is believed was once a pagan
fertility rite dedicated to the goddess Ceres. The 2003 Festivities
were participated by 700 girls and attend by more than 100.000
