VOLUNTEERS BUILD HOUSES FOR POOR IN CHILE.
Volunteers from the A Roof for Chile program work on finishing a home
of prefabricated wood panels for a needy family in the coastal city of
Valparaiso, 130 kilometers northwest of Santiago, August 9, 2003. The
group of young, well-off Chileans who founded the program six years ago
and have already built 18,000 homes, are now inspiring their
counterparts in other Latin American countries to roll up their sleeves
and do something about poverty. REUTERS/Carlos Barria PP03080095 HIGH
