A firefighter and an Environmental Protection Agency worker observe
from a safe distance as smoke rises from the remains of two rail car
tankers containing denatured alcohol which caught on fire near U.S.
Interstate 5 in Tacoma, Washington, December 11, 2002. The fire started
under a bridge on State Route 509 forcing the evacuation of a six-block
radius around the industrial area of Tacoma. An EPA official says that
the fire did not pose any significant health threat from fumes.
