French pilot Bruno Saby drives over a puddle of mud during the first stage of the Granada-Dakar rally race. Saby made the best time clocking 5 min 36 seconds ahead of also French Pierre-Lartigue who came second 12 seconds later. The race will end in Dakar, Senegal, after covering some 7,579 Kilometers.
