A Falun Gong follower meditates while holding a portrait of a tortured mainland follower during a protest in Hong Kong June 26, 2001. About 100 members of the spiritual movement rallied in the rain on Tuesday, urging the United Nations to conduct an independent probe into China's crackdown on the group. The Group said 233 practitioners have been tortured to death so far this year, up from 22 in the same period last year.
