Tashi Wangdi, Minister for Department of Religion and Culture of the Tibetan government in exile, holds up a photograph of Karmapa Lama, Tibet's third higest-ranking lama, in the northern Indian town of Dharamsala January 8. Karmapa Lama, the only top lama approved by China's Communist government and Tibet's spiritual leader the Dalai Lama, arrived in Dharamsala on January 5 after a week-long trek over Himalayas, travelling 900 miles (1,400 km) from his monastery near Lhasa.
