this file picture of August 1993. Peru has opened criminal proceeding
against disgraced ex-President Alberto Fujimori for the murder, forced
disappearance and grave injuries of those victims and 15 partygoers
killed in the so-called Barrios Altos massacre in 1991. The incidents
were two of the most notorious killings in Fujimori's 1990-2000 rule,
which gave Peru one of Latin America's worst human rights records.
