Romanian coal miners protest against government February 16 during a stop in Tirgu Jiu, 280 km north-west from Bucharest. The miners started a spontaneous march to Bucharest to support their leader, Miron Cozma, sentenced by Romania's Supreme Court to 18 years in prison for his role in leading 1991 riots in Bucharest which toppled the government.
