An auction organiser closes the door of an 1974 Buick Electra as the car was sold at auction August 9 to an unidentified buyer. The car, presented to former Romanian communist dictator Nicolae Ceausescu by [U.S. President Richard Nixon,] was sold for 241 million lei ($15,000) among some 650 objects put on auction out of a total of 10,000 goods confiscated from Ceausescu and his wife Elena after their summary trial and execution on Christmas Day during the 1989 anti-communist revolution.
