Boston security guards move Princess Diana's Bruce Oldfield designed black velvet gown through Boston's Four Seasons Hotel and into a charity auction, where it sold for $200,000, September 29. An anonymous bidder from Florida placed the winning bid to purchase the gown once worn by Princess Diana to the opening of "Les Miserables." The sale is believed to be the first auctioning of one of the Princess's gowns since her death.
