The statue of the founder of the Soviet state, Vladimir Lenin, is seen against the building of the Finland railway station in St.Petersburg, April 1, 2009. A blast hit the statue in the early hours of April 1 in the square outside Finland Station in St. Petersburg. The monument was erected in 1926 and survived World War Two and the siege of Leningrad.
