ST.PETERSBURG.
Russian President Vladimir Putin (R) and Chinese President Jiang Zemin
talk at the start of their meeting at the Yusupov Palace in
St.Petersburg, June 6, 2002. Putin and Jiang met in advance of Friday's
summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the security group
which includes Russia, China and four ex-Soviet republics in Central
Asia - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
