A demonstrator holds a placard during a protest in front of the Russian defence ministry in Moscow January 28, 2006. The protest was staged in reaction to Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov's initial dismissal of a bullying affair in the Russian army that led to a soldier having his legs, genitals and fingers amputated. The placard's top picture shows Ivanov, quoting him as saying 'I was high up in the mountains. Nothing serious had happened'. The bottom picture shows conscript Andrei Sychev, 19, who was beaten for several hours by his superiors and given delayed - some say botched - medical help that allowed gangrene to develop and lead to amputations. The lower text reads: 'Andrei Sychev - Disabled for Life'. REUTERS/Alexander Natruskin
