Moscow, Russia
The Gazprom gas pumping station near the village of Pisarevskaya, some 280 km (173.9 miles) from the central Russian city of Voronezh is pictured in this December 16, 2005 file photo. The station near Pisarevskaya is the last pumping station on Russian soil, sending Russian gas via Ukraine to Western Europe. Russian gas monopoly Gazprom said January 2, 2006, that Ukraine had stolen around 100 million cubic metres of gas bound for Europe on January 1, local agencies reported. Kiev said it was not, but that if temperatures fell below freezing it would start to siphon off gas as payment for transit fees. REUTERS/Viktor Korotayev/File photo
