Suspended Hamburg judge Ronald Schill, dubbed "Judge Merciless" by the media, after being fined 12,000 marks (US$5,357) for perverting the course of justice October 13, 2000. Schill was convicted of delaying the hearing of an appeal by two visitors to his court whom he had sent into police cells for "slouching" in court.
