CERN will announce tomorrow that the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) the largest and most powerful particle accelerator in the world, will start up its second three-year run. After substantial repairs and improvements over the last two years, the 27km (16.77 miles) long LHC will restart at a higher energy. The energy of particle collisions will be 13 TeV (or 6.5 TeV per beam) compared to 8 TeV (4 TeV per beam) in 2012.
