SEATTLE JUDGE SETS $4 MILLION BAIL FOR SHIPYARD SHOOTING SUSPECT.
Kevin William Cruz (C) stands in shackles at the King County Jailhouse courtroom on January 5, while speaking to defense attorney Lorraine Roberts (L) during a hearing where judge Mark Chow set Cruz's bail at $4 million while police continue their investigation to determine whether Cruz was the gunman at the Northlake Shipyard shooting that left two men dead and two other wounded on November 3, 1999. A backpack with the loaded murder weapon, extra ammunition and a camouflage jacket were found on January 1, in bushes at a park near the crime scene. Although police conducted a door to door search in the neighborhood immediately after the incident, the murderer has been at-large for over two months. Judge Chow directed the media not to photograph Cruz's face during this bail hearing. apb/Photo by Anthony P.
