THAI MARINE HELPS BUILD TEMPORY CLASSROOMS IN NARATHIWAT PROVINCE.
A Thai marine helps build temporary classrooms in Bangkuntong village, the scene of an arson attack on schools by unidentified militants last month, in restive southern Narathiwat province 1200 km (750 miles) south of Bangkok May 1, 2004. Schools that were burned down during the attacks have to be ready for re-opening by May 17. Thailand's Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra said on Saturday that separatism was not the main motive behind this week's attacks on security outposts which killed 108 militants.
