Taiwan police stand beside the crashed Singapore Airlines Boeing 747-400 November 2, 2000 at Taoyuan International Airport. Singapore Airlines said on Thursday the death toll from the crash in Taiwan had risen to 80 from 79 and it was checking reports another person may have died in hospital. There were 179 passengers and crew members on board the plane.
