Oblak, from Ljubljana, has been forced to work as a manual labourer, sorting out scrap metal and other recyclable materials, after failing to find a job despite having a masters degree in architecture. Unemployment in Slovenia is steadily rising as the country wrestles with a prolonged recession and a crumbling banking sector, burdened by almost 8 billion euros in bad loans. The centre-left coalition government won a confidence vote on Thursday and shored up political backing for its efforts to avoid an international bailout and revive the economy.
