Geoff Menu (R), an employee at Fred's Uptown Tavern in Vancouver, lights a patrons cigarette Monday January 3. Menu wears a respirator and protective suit to circumvent Workers' Compensation Board regulations that ban cigarette smoking. The ban which came into effect January 1, 2000, prohibits smoking in all indoor workplaces in British Columbia, including bars and restaurants, to protect employees from second hand cigarette smoke.
