The zigzag on the right is the signature of a supermassive black hole in the center of galaxy M84, discovered by the Hubble Space Telescope's Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (STIS) and released by NASA May 12. The image at left was taken with the Hubble's Wide Field Planetary and Camera 2 and shows the core of the galaxy where the suspected black hole dwells. The image was one of four released by NASA that shows the results of the new Hubble instruments installed in telescope's the most recent upgrade in February.
