VIEW OF UPSILON ANDROMEDAE STAR.
An image of the star Upsilon Andromedae. Astronomers said April 15 they had discovered the first solar system outside our own, with three massive planets orbiting a Sun-like star. All three planets circling Upsilon Andromedae are gas giants like Earth's big neighbour Jupiter, and not thought to be hospitable to life. However, an Earth-type planet might be a part of this system, one researcher said.
