champagne after sharing part of the annual "El Gordo" (The Fat One)
Christmas lottery jackpot in the Canary Islands town of Santa Cruz de
la Palma December 22, 2001. Spain's "Fat One" annual lottery kicked off
the Christmas season on Saturday with a slight difference it was the
last time traditional prize draw would give away pesetas. The lottery
prize, once the world's biggest, is 51,000 million pesetas (306.5
million Euro), this year divided among a group of people who shared a
ticket in the southeastern region of Murcia and in the Canary Islands.
